Genie's new HD-SDI (High Definition Serial Digital Interface) cameras in 1.3 megapixel (720p) or 2.1 megapixel (1080p) resolutions deliver all the benefits of high definition broadcast style video over coax in 16:9 wide screen format. The range includes body cameras (HDC131 & HDC201), bullet IR cameras (HDB131IR & HDB201IR), internal mini domes (HDMDF202), external vandal resistant domes (HDVDF202, HDVD131IR & HDVD201IR) as well as 4 and 8 channel HD-SDI digital video recorders (HDDVR4 & HDDVR8). HD-SDI enables the transmission of uncompressed digital video which is of greater quality than IP but uses the same installation method as analogue coaxial cable. One of the main benefits of HD-SDI technology is that there is no loss of image data and zero latency when viewing images. Other features include digital noise reduction, mechanical IR cut-filter, 20 privacy zones, Alarm in/out and RS-485 support. |

Tecton have recently released MATE which allows the easy introduction of HD cameras on an existing system. The compact device records all the images from HD cameras in real time for 31 days in full HD resolution. The MATE also provides both the power to and data from the camera via a Cat 5 cable plus the unit can be powered either via the network (PoE switch) or 12vDC. Multiple video images can be streamed to 10 users and MATE provides 6TB of 'on-board' storage. HD camera signals can generate large volumes of network traffic. A 1080P signal starts with five times more data than an analogue D1 or 4CIF signal. By keeping this traffic at the edge of the network until required you can manage the network more efficiently. |

The durable vandal-resistant cast aluminium IP66 rated housing has full 3-axis adjustment for any surface and is simple to install with true plug and play set up and a 200/320 mA low power consumption. These features combined with its discreet design make the dome an ideal choice for security installations in buildings for effective surveillance in hallways and stairwells. The dome requires 12vDC. |

That the Redvision X-Series domes use a flat window in front of their camera module. According to Redvision, "The prime reason for using a flat window in front of the camera module within the X-SERIES™ cameras is to make it optically correct. The more common 'bubble' or hemispherical plastic cover found in most dome designs is much harder to make accurate. Redvision are able to make the window from glass, not plastic, which is more transparent, maximising the performance and reducing the optical distortion of the camera modules used, especially in low lighting conditions". |
