This year is the tenth anniversary of trading for Genie CCTV. As part of their celebrations they're teaming up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to raise some funds for this very worthwhile charity. One of the many activities Genie will be running through the summer is a financial contribution on sales of a specific product range. Samsung has introduced the SCV-2081R, a high performance, compact, vandal-resistant dome camera which has built-in IR LEDs. Delivering 600 TV lines resolution the dome is suitable for a wide range of internal and external applications such as offices, retail stores, schools and hospitals. The IP66 rated dome is ideal for more demanding environments that are prone to severe or varying weather conditions as well as tampering or physical attack. The SCV-2081R has a built-in 3.6X varifocal lens (2.8 ~ 10mm) and incorporates Samsung Techwin’s highly acclaimed W-V DSP chipset to deliver a host of advanced features including eight motion detection zones, twelve privacy masking zones and third generation Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNRIII) technology. |

JVC will be launching a series of full HD cameras and domes over the coming months. The comprehensive range will encompass entry level models at 720p, intermediate and advanced both at 1080p full HD. Options will include box style cameras, box with integrated lens, indoor mini-domes and external domes. Based on the popular 1/3'' CMOS sensor that can deliver up to 30 fps full frame rate, the range will include JVC's new Clear Logic Video Intelligence (CLVI) image processing, which compensates for back lighting and digitally removes ambient fog, haze, rain or smoke. Codec options include M-Jpeg, M-Peg-4 and H.264 - High Profile which uses significantly less bandwidth than the H.264 Baseline or Main Profile. An in-depth review will follow as and when the range becomes available. |

The D60x16.7SR4DE is the latest release by Fujinon to their ever-growing range of lenses designed for megapixel cameras. The lens is suitable for 2 megapixel resolution and provides 60x optical zoom. Ideal for 1/2'' sensors, the lens covers a focal length range of f = 16.7 ~ 1000mm plus thanks to the built-in 2x extender, the focal length can be doubled to reach a maximum focal length of f = 2000mm. This impressive viewing range makes the lens suitable for applications that require extensive details in HD quality over a long distance - such as airports, borders and harbours. Equipped with Fujinon's 'day/night technology' it delivers sharp images both day and night without any focus shift between modes. |

Vicon Industries Inc. has introduced a line of fixed cameras designed to deliver ‘superior’ resolution, image quality and performance when used as part of any ONVIF-compliant video management system. Included in the new V960, true day/night camera range are:- box, indoor dome, outdoor dome and bullet camera with a variety of lens and resolution options. They all have removable IR-cut filters, as well as a P-iris designed to precisely optimise the balance between lighting and depth-of-field. The cameras transmit H.264 compression with dual streaming, up to nine secondary streams in H.264 or Mjpeg and vary in resolution, frame rate and image quality. The new SSA-PE1202 can control access for up to 384 floors to allow employees, residents or authorised visitors to use an access control card, fingerprint or RFID reader to access a specific floor of a building. Up to 50,000 users can be registered to use up to four reader devices in each lift, whilst a non-volatile memory with 20,000 event buffer capacity can store user and time schedule information in the event of a power loss. The unit, which integrates with the Samsung’s SSA-P4 control panel, can interact with video surveillance and alarm systems. It can also be scheduled to restrict access by floor or by user, depending on the time of day and allows timed automatic activation/deactivation of lift floor buttons. 26/34 bit Wiegand selectable, the device provides real time monitoring of lift activity access and alarm status via Samsung’s SAMS software. |

Pecan CCTV have announced a new addition to their increasingly popular MicroDome range with the feature-packed D054CHLT Series. Based on the mechanics and materials of the newly released D053C series the D054CHLT has low power consumption and an optional ‘Icon’ On Screen Display (OSD) set up facility by wired remote control. It has a new lightweight corrosion-resistant glass reinforced polycarbonate housing, the versatility of an optional angled surface mount and a 2nd video output.
