Mobotix range now available from Pro-Vision

Following last month's lead story that the EverFocus range is available from Pro-Vision we are delighted to announce that the full product portfolio from Mobotix is now also available from us. The German company Mobotix AG is known as one of the leading pioneers in network camera technology and its decentralised concept has made high resolution video systems cost efficient. One of the primary benefits of using Mobotix high resolution cameras is that the stored images are more detailed and provide stronger evidence than other formats. Mobotix cameras record approximately 30 times more detail than 95% of all existing video systems worldwide. In virtually all applications, one Mobotix camera can replace several standard CCTV systems because Mobotix technology offers four times more coverage. Examples of where the use of the Mobotix range has reduced the number of cameras required on installations can be found on their website.

Raytec run webinar series

With the nights starting to draw in it's a good time to review lighting! Our colleagues Raytec are well into their series of webinars on the subject and have a very interesting one next month. Lighting is becoming ever more integral to a security system and the performance and feature-sets of LED illuminators are developing at a rapid pace. In the November session Raytec advise, not just how to install illumination, but how to exploit some of the advanced features for real performance benefits. Plus it explores advanced techniques for designing lighting for major systems including lighting for network cameras, lighting for domes, pulsed lighting and remote control systems. DM's CamVu dome

The latest addition to the Dedicated Micros CamVu range is the vandal-resistant CamVu IP PTZ dome. Naturally the dome provides unrivalled integration with the latest generation of DM DVRs, NVRs and Video Servers, providing remote camera configuration and commissioning features directly from the DVR. These include telemetry options, camera settings (white balance, exposure, colour/brightness, cut filter control, shutter speed etc.), presets, patrols, privacy masking and event management can all be configured directly from the Video Servers Configuration interface – removing the need for multiple configuration screens and site re-visits as well as saving valuable time during installation and commissioning. Options include 18, 28 and 36 x zoom and the domes are powered via PoE.

Vicon release 4 channel H.264 encoder

The H264-ENCDR Network Encoder is a 4-channel digital video server that converts analogue camera inputs into streamed IP video data. This embedded device is specifically designed to integrate into the ViconNet Video Management System (VMS). The tight integration into ViconNet provides advanced features, such as museum search, analytics, dynamic load balancing and automatic detection in the ViconNet VMS. It offers full support for both NTSC/EIA and PAL/CCIR video cameras. The H264-ENCDR is easily configured using Vicon’s exclusive VNsetup utility, which rapidly finds the unit on the network and enables quick assignment of an IP address. In addition, the server supports full PTZ control, alarm reporting, picture quality configuration, external sensors, macros and alarm configuration.

Dallmeier show Panomera effect

Dallmeier have produced a nice little PDF giving an example of how effective their Panomera system is at providing quality images at distance. To date Dallmeier have not released a datasheet as this is still being prepared, so in the interim period the link below will give an accurate indication of the level of detail that can be achieved even at an impressive distance of 525ft/160m. They have also produced a 'Top ten Panomera highlights' PDF. Both files can be found on our website - just follow the link below.

Bosch offer compact Junior domes

With a dome diameter of only 5.04 inches (12.8 cm), the AutoDome Junior HD is nearly 50% smaller than the Bosch AutoDome. These compact dimensions make the Junior HD ideal for discreet surveillance applications. Despite its compact design, the Junior HD delivers state-of-the-art technology and features that are rare to most compact PTZ cameras. Its variable pan and tilt speeds and AutoPivot ensure optimal camera control and viewing at all zoom levels. The high performance 160x (10x optical/16x digital) zoom autofocus camera incorporates the latest digital imaging technology with excellent sensitivity and resolution. With 64 user-defined presets as well as tour and AutoPan modes, the AutoDome Junior HD is not small on features. Bosch have also released a fixed version under the AutoDome Junior range.

Samsung launch HD V/R IR domes

Samsung have added two new HD megapixel models with built-in IR LEDs to its network vandal-resistant dome camera range. The SNV-5080R and SNV-7080R are able to deliver high definition images during both daylight hours and in pitch black darkness. The SNV-5080R incorporates a 1.3 megapixel camera with a varifocal lens and 15 built-in IR LEDs. The camera features their WiseNet1 DSP chipset to deliver advanced functions such as Intelligent Video Analytics. The SNV-7080R incorporates an ONFIV compliant 3 megapixel Wide Dynamic Range (2MP mode) camera capable of displaying multiple resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 (4:3 format) and Full HD 1080p (16:9 format). Incorporating Samsung’s bandwidth-friendly WiseNet2 DSP chipset, it offers the option of dual-streaming of video using H.264 and MJPEG compression and can therefore be simultaneously used for real-time monitoring, mobile monitoring, high quality or high efficiency recording, SD memory recording and/or E-mail notifications. The dome also features their Smart Codec compression technology, which allows specific areas of interest to be captured at a higher resolution. This means that areas such as doorways, human faces, or windows are transmitted or recorded at full resolution, whilst other areas within the scene are reduced to minimise file sizes.
