Good news! Pro-Vision are pleased to announce that we have recently signed an agreement to distribute the EverFocus range of CCTV equipment throughout the UK. All of their product portfolio will be available but it's the High Definition (HD) over the coax that we see will be of significant interest to UK installers. The EverFocus range delivers and records HD image quality using traditional coaxial cable whilst retaining plug-and-play ease of installation. Their HD CCTV cameras use the advanced HD-SDI transfer format to send full HD, megapixel resolution digital video over the same coax that previously only carried standard definition video. To support the HD cameras, the Paragon HD DVR records at more than 6 times higher resolution than SD DVRs to record and playback HD image quality at 240/200 FPS that were carried over COAX. These products will be featured in the coming months but you’ll find details about the first one we’re offering below. |

Samsung has developed an application that enables live video from its iPOLiS network camera range to be remotely viewed on the iPhone, Android and Galaxy S smartphones. The free iPOLiS MOBILE app, which can be downloaded from iTunes and Android Market, allows users to control the pan, tilt and zoom functions of the latest Samsung network cameras on their sites via an easy-to-use interface. After set-up users are able to view streamed video from their selected camera via a wireless or 3G network. All future Samsung iPOLiS network cameras will be compatible with the app and camera models which currently have the latest firmware and are therefore compatible, include the latest HD megapixel ranges, and the full pan/tilt/zoom models. |

The newly redesigned Oracle PTZ Dome from Dedicated Micros now includes a choice of either an analogue or IP connection to the associated security system. This flexibility allows the installation of an analogue system to be upgraded at any point to IP without needing to replace the dome bracket or cable. Available in either 18, 28 or 36 x zoom (internal and external options) these IP66 rated vandal-resistant domes offer full integration with DM's DVRs, NVRs and Video Servers as well as their popular Closed IPTV platform. Multiple simultaneous streams in any combination from MPEG-4, H.264 and JPEG may be selected and the unit is compatible with a wide variety of mounting brackets and options and is supported with a 4 year warranty. |

Bosch have introduced the Dinion HD 1080p Day/Night IP camera, as the latest addition to their high definition (HD) portfolio. The high quality camera achieves best-in-class performance, combining full HD resolution images with excellent low-light operation and colour reproduction. The Dinion HD 1080p Day/Night IP camera delivers uncompromising vision even in busy, colourful scenes. The entire advanced image pipeline, from lens to image processing, ensures images stay sharp throughout the scene. This allows reliable identification of faces, objects and alphanumeric information over a wide area. Operators can zoom in to any part of a scene to examine specific details without losing clarity. The SCV-2081 and SCV-3081 are compact surface mounted domes that are suitable for a wide range of internal and external applications. Both models, which are housed in a highly durable die-cast aluminium chassis, are IP66 rated. The SCV-2081 has a built-in 2.8-10mm varifocal lens and incorporates their W-V DSP chipset to deliver quality colour images at up to 600 TV lines. Advanced features include third generation Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNRIII) technology and coaxial control compatibility which allows the on-screen display menu to be accessed from the control room via a compatible DVR. The SCV-3081 has a built-in 2.8-11mm varifocal lens and incorporates their SV-V chipset that shares all the features of the W-V chipset, but also provides cameras with Wide Dynamic Range and Progressive Scan to allow them to deliver outstanding picture quality even in the most demanding applications. A key feature of the SV-V chipset is an Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) capability, which is able to perform functions such as appear/disappear detection. |

Following on from last month's news about Pelco's new camera technology - SureVision, a comprehensive range of box cameras and domes are now available featuring this new technology. According to Pelco "SureVision seamlessly delivers advanced low-light capability, wide dynamic range (WDR) and anti-bloom technology for industry-leading image quality". SureVision is available in Sarix standard definition mini-domes as well as the standard definition E and V series and the HD mini-domes including both the E and V series. Plus SureVision is available on both a standard and high definition box camera. Pelco's anti-bloom technology adjusts the image to create the best picture when a bright light source is introduced into a dark scene, for example glaring headlights in night-time traffic. |

Vigitron has announced the release of the Vi2804 extended distance four port managed switch which conforms to major network switch protocols. The Vi2804P provides individual port 802.3af or 802.at PoE power with no power sharing depending on the input power supply. The Vi2804's extended port works in conjunction with Vigitron's Vi2300 extended Ethernet over UTP series and Vi2400 extended Ethernet over Coax series to provide transmission distances of up to 5,000 feet (1,524m) by providing either a UTP and Coax extended transmission output. Power can be provided using conventional 12vDC or 24vAC external power supplies or via PoE. In addition the Vi2408P can be used as an AF/AT High Power PoE injector with the use of a 48vDC power supply. This unique combination of fixed management switch functionality, flexible power and extended distance results in high quality performance in a wide variety of applications. By providing RJ45 and coax connections, customers will no longer have to choose between two different products. |

Siemens have recently increased their range of IP cameras and domes with VGA (680 Lines pixels) and 2 MP box style cameras and fixed domes plus a 2 MP vandal-resistant fixed dome with IR illumination. These will soon be followed by 1.3 MP wide dynamic variants. The CVMS2025-IR is a vandal-proof IP dome camera with a 3 - 9mm varifocal lens which is suitable for most networking applications. The integrated IR is provided by 21 illuminators with a 15m range and the dome is true day night in operation with the IR cut filter. Due to the H.264, MPEG-4 & MJPEG functionality and ONVIF compatibility, the dome can be easily integrated into third party systems. The dome offers 8 privacy zones, motion detection and is dual volt 12/24vor PoE. |

The first product available from the EverFocus HD range is the EQH5200 box camera. It provides real-time 1080i HD video over coax using a 2mp progressive scan 1/2.5'' CMOS sensor and supports video outputs of 720p and 1080i. The box camera is compatible with DC and manual iris lenses CS mount or C mount with the adaptor provided. It has an easy to use OSD set-up menu and is true day night in operation. A nice little feature to assist installation is that the device has dual output - megapixel HD-SDI (BNC) plus SD TV (RCA). The EQH5200 is also dual power source - 12/24v. |
